When other men may lose temper or lash out, the strongman is the calm in every storm. My grandfather was such a man, a hero both in war and to my soul. I never once saw him anything less than calm no matter what the situation. He was never at the mercy of the emotional weather in the world, because he had the fortitude to make his own. It must have cost him to become that way, for he'd lived through orphanage life and a war. Such self control never comes cheap. He earned it for the sake of others, to become father to himself and others.
A strongman can be the hero and the vulnerable lover, the warm hearted family man. Empathy is a human trait, emotional literacy is essential for all personal maturation. The true alpha is a protector and a safe pair of hands in all situations because they are well anchored, making responses rather than impulsive reactions. So let us take a moment to honour what the strongman is, for there is so much self control born of a loving heart that goes into making such a man.
The most essential aspect of the strongman is the strong heart, for without such he would be a powerful motor without either navigation system or steering wheel.
