The genius ability to triangulate rather than do binary thoughts is what makes them so close to notions of madness. When the brain hits extremely high levels of activity - of creativity - a very strong logical aspect of the prefrontal cortex is required to keep it in check.
They say that the genius often thinks and speaks in metaphors and analogies, in little stories rather than complexity, but as one who does this I wonder if they have it backwards. I wonder if those who grow up with analogy and metaphor are simply able to grasp the concept beneath the words more deeply and summon their intuition, their instinctual intelligence with greater ease. After all, if two people are trying to complete a puzzle, yet one uses simpler pieces, they will be faster and be more successful. So perhaps the initial brain is quite ordinary, yet as we make the choice to engage with analogy, metaphor and intuition the genius element accelerates.
I am a firework forever stuck in that split second after explosion, both hurtling through space and static, on fire and frozen. I am the energy that seeks a thousand paths because the way forward is denied. I am the silent scream that's deafening, but you can hear it with your eyes if you dare look.
